Cherie Teamer Henley
Re-entry Attachment Docket Attorney
Cherie Teamer Henley is JAC’s Re-Entry Attachment Docket contract attorney. She assists formerly incarcerated people in Orleans Parish with reducing and eliminating excessive traffic fines, fees, and attachments that accrued during their incarceration. She also works on policy and legal issues surrounding driver’s license and child support obligations impacting reentry participants.
Prior to earning her law degree, Cherie worked for Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s Office of Communication, where she was inspired to pursue a career impacting public policy. In law school, she worked for Senator Mary Landrieu’s re-election campaign, which gave her the opportunity to work directly with impacted people across the State of Louisiana.
Cherie operates Teamer Law Corp, LLC, a solo real estate and successions practice. She is also a partner with the personal injury law firm Davis, Johnson, and Teamer, LLC. Cherie is a dedicated member of several service organizations including the Junior League of New
Orleans, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated (initiated Spring of 2008), and serves as Co-Chair of the Krewe of Muses Social and Fundraising Committee.
Cherie is a graduate of Louisiana State University’s Manship School of Mass Communication with minors in African American Studies and Political Science. She received her JD from Tulane University Law School where her honors include participation in the Moot Court Appellate Team and Order of the Coif recognition.
